Toad in the Hole

Toad in the Hole in your Halogen Oven.

Ingredients:

  • 8 sausages
  • 3 eggs
  • 125g of plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt, or (salt according to taste)
  • 175 ml of milk
  • 4 tablespoons of vegetable cooking oil

Method:

To make the batter – put flour and salt in a big bowl, make a well in the centre and add the eggs.

Pour in half the milk, mix well until it is smooth – then add the rest of the milk, whisk well until you see tiny bubbles. Leave it to rest for a while.

On the low rack place a small roasting tin with oil and sausages in it. Cook at 200°C (400°F) for about 10 minutes or until sausages turn brown.

Next pour the batter over the sausages ( the oil in the roasting tin must be very hot when you do that) and cook at 200°C (400°F) for about 30 to 40 minutes or until the batter has risen and is golden brown.

There you have it – Toad in the Hole.

You may serve it with onion gravy

Bon Appetit!
